For my final project for Digital Media class, I rebranded/updated social media for my cross country team at Loyola University Chicago. As a fifth year graduate student on the cross country/track team, I have exhausted my cross country eligibility and I only have track eligibility remaining for this year. Because I was not competing this fall season, I had a little extra time to follow around my favorite teammates in the world on their journey to becoming one of the best teams in the Midwest (which, if you are wondering, they did: ninth place at NCAA Division I Midwest Regional Meet).
Using technology and the popularity of social media, I was looking to further market the sport of cross country and women in sports. I created a Twitter account (follow @TheWomenofLUXC) and wrote press releases on this blog (go take a look) to update fans on races, previews for races, analyses of races, and other news on the Rambler women.
My final component was a visual piece, this video, which acts as a fun little promotional video for the team. I had a great time making it. Check it out!
